On August 18, 2003, Shalisha Dapaa became Supervisor - Employee/Labor Relations, Benefits, and Organizational Learning
and Development within the Great Lakes Region.  Dapaa's supervisory responsibilities cover employee and labor relations, benefits, training, performance management and the employee assistance program.   Dapaa will continue to serve as Training Program Manager for the Region.  Dapaa is reportedly the fifth NBCFAE member to be promoted in the Region to the 14, 15 and Senior Executive Service (SES) level within the last 12 months.

On August 24th, Mark McClardy became the Airports Western-Pacific Regional Manager.  Prior to this promotion, McClardy was Manager of the Planning and Programming Branch in the Great Lakes Region.  He also had prior management experience in the Chicago Airport District Office.  McClardy received a civil engineer degree from Michigan State University.

FAA Employee Coalitions

On August 15, 2003, Ramone Crowe became NBCFAE National Vice President.  Prior to the appointment, Crowe served as Regional President of NBCFAE's Great Lakes Region for the past 3 years.  For the past 16 months, Crowe has held a temporary assignment as the Acting National Airspace Program Manager. He is responsible for contracts, budgets and coordination of all National Airspace Infrastructure Projects in Michigan and Wisconsin.

On August 15, 2003, Derrick Rummels assumed the position of  NBCFAE Greats Lakes Regional President.  Rummels was appointed as Regional Vice President in April.  He is the former recruiter from Minneapolis Community  &
Technical College, formerly known as the Air Traffic Control Tower MARC School.  He
currently is a Certified Professional Controller at the Quad City Tower in Moline, IL.

Great things are happening for the Great Lakes Chapter of NHCFAE.  The Chapter was recently awarded the Coalition's Region of the Year Award for 2003.  Five chapter members were also recognized by the national organization for their service and contributions.  Among those honored were Gerardo Martinez, Estella Ponce, Aida Rodriguez, Guadalupe Rodriquez, and Marva Taylor.

Gerardo Martinez is a member of the Great Lakes Region's Recruitment Team, which is comprised of FAA employees who volunteer to assist the agency in attracting more individuals from diverse backgrounds.  Martinez recently received the National Flight Standards Award for Innovations in Cultural Diversity.
