Logistics Group, Marine Corps Air Station Yuma,
Arizona. |

Cpl. Brian M. Connelly,
26, of Union Beach, New Jersey, died February 26
in Adhamiya, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his
vehicle was struck by an explosive
device. Connelly was assigned to the 40th
Engineer Battalion, Task Force 1-6, 2nd Brigade
Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder,
Germany. |

Four Soldiers Killed by IED in Kandahar
Four
soldiers died February 24 in Kandahar,
Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an
improvised explosive device detonated near
their vehicle. Killed were:
Capt. Brian M.
Bunting, 29, of Potomac,
Maryland. Bunting was a member of the
Individual Ready Reserve, assigned to the
27th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Syracuse,
New York.
Sgt. Schuyler B.
Patch, 25, of Owasso
Oklahoma. Patch was assigned to the 2nd
Squadron, 106th Cavalry Regiment, 33rd
Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Kewanee,
Illinois.
Sgt. Scott B.
Stream, 39, of Mattoon,
Illinois. Stream was assigned to the 2nd
Battalion, 130th Infantry Regiment, 33rd
Infantry Brigade Combat Team, Effingham,
Illinois.
Sgt. Daniel J.
Thompson, 24, of Madison,
Wisconsin. Thompson was a member of the
Individual Ready Reserve, assigned to the
715th Military Police Company, Melbourne,
Florida.

MP Killed in Mosul
1st Lt. William E. Emmert,
36, of Lincoln, Tennessee, died February 24 in
Mosul, Iraq, of wounds suffered when he was shot
while participating in a local Iraqi Police
function. Emmert was assigned to the 269th
Military Police Company, 117th Military Police
Battalion, Murfreesboro, Tennessee. |

Three members of the 5th Squadron, 1st
Cavalry Regiment, 1st Stryker Brigade Combat
Team, 25th Infantry Division, Fort
Wainwright, Alaska, died February 23 in

insurgents attacked their unit using small
arms fire. Killed were:

PA Guard Member Killed by Enemy Fire
Staff Sgt. Mark C. Baum,
32, of Telford, Pennsylvania, died February 21
in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds suffered earlier
that day when enemy forces attacked his unit
using small arms fire in Mushada, Iraq. Baum was
assigned to the 1st Battalion, 111th Infantry
Regiment, 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team of
the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. |

Two Soldiers Killed by IED
Two
members of the 1st Battalion, 3rd Special
Forces Group (Airborne), Fort Bragg, North
Carolina died February 20 in Afghanistan
when their military vehicle was struck by an
improvised explosive device followed by
small arms fire attack by enemy forces.
Killed were:
Staff Sgt. Jeremy E.
Bessa, 26, of Woodridge Illinois,
died February 20, in Khordi, Afghanistan.
Master Sgt. David L.
Hurt, 36, of Tucson, Arizona,
died February 20, in Kandahar, Afghanistan,
from wounds received during the same
incident.
IED Claims Soldier Near Bagram
Staff Sgt. Timothy P.
Davis, 28, of Aberdeen, Washington,
died February 20 near Bagram, Afghanistan, of
wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an
improvised explosive device. Davis was assigned
to the 23rd Special Tactics Squadron, Hurlburt
Field, Florida.

19, of Honolulu died February 19 in Kuwait City,

Brigade Combat Team of the Hawaii National
Guard. |

Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood,
