Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary
Force, Camp Pendleton, California.
Soldier Dies from Injuries Received in Abu
Jassim

Sgt. Jevon K. Jordan,
32, of Norfolk, Virginia, died March 29 at
Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Landstuhl,
Germany, from wounds suffered March 23 in Abu
Jassim, Iraq, when his vehicle encountered an
improvised explosive. Jordan was assigned to
the 3rd Battalion, 7th Infantry Regiment, 4th
Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division, Fort
Stewart, Georgia.
Enemy Attack Claims Two Soldiers in Baghdad
Two members
of the 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry, 4th Brigade
Combat Team, 1st Infantry Division, Fort Riley,
Kansas died March 29 in Baghdad from wounds
suffered when they encountered an improvised
explosive device and small arms fire. Killed
were:

Bennett, 22, of Spanaway,
Washington. Bennett was an
infantryman assigned to 2nd Battalion,
16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry
Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry
Division. His home of record is
Spanaway, Washington. He entered the
Army in August 2005; and began serving
with the 1st Infantry Division in
December 2005. This was his first
deployment in support of the Global War
on Terrorism. |

Miller, 23, of New Port
Richey, Florida. Miller was an
infantryman assigned to 2nd Battalion,
16th Infantry Regiment, 4th Infantry
Brigade Combat Team, 1st Infantry
Division. His home of record is New Port
Richey, Fla. He entered the Army in
March 2007. He began serving with the
1st Inf. Div. in July 2007. This was his
first deployment in support of the
Global War on Terrorism. |

examiner confirmed on March 29,
human remains recovered in Iraq
were those of Staff Sgt.
Keith M. Maupin, 24, of
Batavia, Ohio. Maupin had been
listed as missing-captured since
April 16, 2004. His convoy came
under attack by individuals
using rocket-propelled grenades
and small arms fire on April 9,
2004. He was assigned to the
724th Transportation Company,
Bartonville, Illinois. |

improvised explosive device. Bowen was assigned
to the 1st Battalion, 175th Infantry Regiment,
Maryland Army National Guard, Towson, Maryland.

IED Claims Three Soldiers in Tallil
Three
soldiers died March 12 in Tallil, Iraq, of
wounds suffered when their vehicle was hit by
indirect fire. Killed were:

of the 7th Special Troops Battalion, 7th
Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division
(Light Infantry), Fort Eustis, Virginia.

Staff Sgt. Juantrea T.
Bradley, 28, of Greenville, North
Carolina. Bradley, 28, was a cargo specialist
who joined the Army in February 2002.
After completing basic training at Fort
Jackson, South Carolina, and advanced
individual training at Fort Benning,
Georgia. Bradley accepted his first
assignment with the 23rd Ordnance
Company in Germany. In November 2001, he
was reassigned to 1st Battalion, 3rd
Aviation Regiment at Hunter Army
Airfield, Georgia. Bradley was
reassigned to Fort Eustis in March 2004
where he served with the 149th
Transportation Company and 155th
Transportation Company. He joined the
7th Sustainment Brigade in June 2007. He
served in Kuwait from February to August
2002; and then in Iraq from January to
July 2003. His numerous awards and
decorations include the Purple Heart,
Army Commendation Medal, Army
Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct
Medal, National Defense Service Medal,
Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, to
name a few. Bradley is survived by his

Pfc. Tenzin L. Samten,
33, of Prescott, Arizona.
Samten,
33, was a motor transport operator. He
enlisted in the Army in July 2006 and
completed basic training at Fort
Jackson, South Carolina, and advanced
individual training at Fort Leonard
Wood, Missouri. Samten was assigned to
the 7th Sustainment Brigade in May
2007. His awards and decorations
include the Purple Heart, National
Defense Service Medal and the Iraq
Campaign Medal. Samten is survived by
his wife and two children.
