Three Marines died
April 28 while conducting combat operations against
enemy forces in Al Anbar province, Iraq. All
were members of the 1st Marine Division, I Marine
Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.
Killed were:

Two members of the
3rd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 1st Marine Division, I
Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California.

Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade, 4th Infantry Division,

After Long Fight, Soldier Dies from IED Injuries

Sgt. Matthew A. Webber,
23, of Kalamazoo, Michigan, died on April 27, in the
Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, Texas, of
injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device
detonated near his HMMWV during combat operations in
Habbaniyah, Iraq, on November 21, 2005. Webber was
assigned to the Army National Guard's 1st Battalion,
125th Infantry Regiment (Mechanized), Saginaw, Michigan.
Webber is survived by his father and his mother,
his step-father, one brother and one sister. |

Cpl. Eric R. Lueken,
23, of Dubois, Indiana, died April 22 while
conducting combat operations against enemy
forces in Al Anbar province, Iraq. He was
assigned to 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment,
3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary
Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii. Lueken was a field
radio operator with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine
Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine
Expeditionary Force, stationed at Marine Corps
Base Hawaii. Lueken joined the Marine Corps
October 2003 and reported to Hawaii May 2004. He
deployed to Iraq March 2006. He also deployed to
Afghanistan with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine
Regiment from November 2004 to June 2005. His
awards include the Purple Heart, two Combat
Action Ribbons, National Defense Service Medal,
Iraq Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal,
and more. Lueken is survived by his parents and
brother. |
Four Soldiers Killed by IED Blast in Baghdad

Four members of the
1st Squadron, 67th Armored Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat
Team, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas died of
injuries sustained in Baghad, Iraq on April 22, when an
improvised explosive device detonated near their HMMWV
causing a fire. Killed were:

Sgt. 1st Class Randall L.
Lamberson, 36, of Springfield, Missouri, died
in Balad, Iraq on April 10 from injuries received
in Ar
Ramadi, Iraq on April 9, when an improvised explosive
device detonated near his HMMWV during convoy
operations. Lamberson is the third member of
the 1st Battalion,
506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st
Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell,
Kentucky killed by the blast. Lamberson joined the
Army in May 1989 and arrived at Fort Campbell in
September 2001. Lamberson is survived by
his father, wife, daughter and son. |
Soldier Dies of Non-Combat Related Cause

Spc. James W. Gardner,
22, of Glasgow, Kentucky, died in Tal Afar, in Iraq, on
April 10, from a non-combat related cause. Gardner
was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 101st Aviation
Regiment, 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne
Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Kentucky. He
joined the Army in March 2003 and arrived at Fort
Campbell in December 2003. Gardner is survived by
his parents, his wife and two step-daughters. |

IED Blast Claims Two Soldiers in Ar Ramadi

Two members of
the 1st Battalion,
506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st
Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell,
Kentucky died in Ar
Ramadi, Iraq on April 9, when an improvised explosive
device detonated near his HMMWV during convoy
operations. A third soldier, Sgt. Lamberson, was injured by the
blast. Killed were:
Spc. David S. Collins,
24, of Jasper Georgia. Collins joined the Army in
January 2002 and arrived at Fort Cambell in June 2002.
Collins is survived by his father and mother, wife, son, and
daughter.
Sgt. 1st Class Gregory S.
Rogers, 42, of Cincinnati, Ohio. Rogers
joined the Army in 1984 and arrived at Fort Campbell in
September 2003. Rogers is survived by parents, and
two daughters.

Lance Cpl. Bryan N. Taylor,
20, of Milford, Ohio, died April 6. He was hot by an
Iraqi Army soldier on a coalition base near Al Qaim,
Iraq. Taylor was assigned to the 2nd Combat Engineer
Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary
Force, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

Spc. Dustin J. Harris,
21, of Bangor, Maine, died in Bayji, Iraq on April 6,
when an improvised device detonated while he was
conducting dismounted patrol operations. Harris was
assigned to the 172nd Brigade Support Battalion, 172nd
Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division
(Air Assault), Fort Wainwright, Alaska. |
IED Blast Killed IA Guard Member in Bayji

Spc. Daniel L. Sesker,
22, of Ogden, Iowa, died during combat operations in Bayji, Iraq on April 6, when
an improvised explosive device detonated directly
adjacent to his HMMWV in which he was the
gunner. Sesker was assigned to the
Army National Guard's Troop C, 1st Squadron, 113th
Cavalry in LeMars, Iowa. Sesker was born in in
April 1983 and graduated from Ogden High School
in 2001, where he participated in wrestling. He
had attended Iowa Central Community College,
where he studied Criminal Law. Sesker enlisted
in the 113th Cavalry in August 2000 as a Calvary
Scout and was deployed to the Balkans from
2003-04 as part of Kosovo Force (KFOR). In 2005,
he deployed to Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom
where he served as part of the Task Force 49th
Military Police Personal Security Detail.
Sesker is survived by his mother and stepfather,
his father, his brother and sister-in-law, his
sister, stepbrother, and fiancé. His
family issued the following statement:
"Dan was
proud of his service in Kosovo in addition to
his current service in Iraq. Dan was also a
police officer in Gowrie, Iowa. He was known for
his sense of humor, love of family and loyalty
to his friends. Dan is loved by more people than
can be counted. He is the best friend that
anyone could ask for with a personality that
brings positive energy to any room he enters. An
excited father-to-be, he took pride in learning
his new role and sharing fatherhood with his
battle buddies. He will be missed more than any
words can explain and his presence will forever
be longed for. Private Sesker (his brother) is
currently serving as a cavalry scout with the
U.S. Army’s 25th Infantry Division, stationed in
Hawaii."

Six Marines died
April 2, when the seven-ton truck they were riding in
rolled over in a flash flood near Al Asad, Iraq. Killed

Cpl. Andres Aguilar Jr.,
21, of Victoria, Texas. Aguilar was a
communications technician with Headquarters
Company, 3rd
Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III
Marine Expeditionary Force, Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
Aguilar joined the Marine Corps June 2002 and
reported to Hawaii March 2003. He deployed to
Iraq March 2006. He also deployed to Afghanistan
with 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment from
Nov. 2004 to June 2005. His awards include the
Good Conduct Medal, Navy Unit Commendation,
National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign
Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on
Terrorism Service Medal, and two Sea Service
Deployment ribbons. Aguilar is survived by his

Staff Sgt. Abraham G. Twitchell,
28, of Yelm, Washington. Twitchell was assigned to the
Combat Service Support Group-1, 1st Marine Logistics
Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms,

Enemy Fire Claims Three Marines in Al Anbar Province

Three members of the
3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division,
II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, North
Carolina died April 2 while conducting combat operations
in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Killed were:
Lance Cpl. Kun Y. Kim,
20, of Atlanta, Georgia.
Staff Sgt. Eric A. McIntosh,
29, of Trafford, Pennsylvania.
Cpl. Scott J. Procopio,
20, of Saugus, Massachusetts.
Enemy Fire Claims Soldier in Hit

Pfc. Jeremy W. Ehle,
19, of Richmond, Virginia, died on April 2 in Hit, Iraq
from wounds sustained when his dismounted patrol came
under enemy small arms fire during combat operations.
Ehle was assigned to the Army's 1st Battalion, 36th
Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade, 1st Armored Division in
Friedberg, Germany.
Sailor Dies in Al Anbar Province
Hospitalman Geovani Padillaaleman,
20, of South Gate, California, died April 2 as a result
of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.
Padillaaleman was permanently assigned to Bethesda Naval
Hospital, USNS Comfort Detachment and operationally
assigned to Third Battalion, Eighth Marine Regiment,
2/28 Brigade Combat Team. |

IED Blast Kills Two Soldiers in Baghdad

Two members of the
2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry, 2nd Brigade Combat Team,
1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany died in
Baghdad, Iraq, on April 1, when an improvised explosive
device detonated while they were conducting a dismounted
patrol. Killed were:
Staff Sgt. Darrell P. Clay,
34, of Fayetteville, North Carolina.
Sgt. Israel Devora Garcia,
23, of Clint, Texas.
Two Soldiers Die in Helicopter Crash

Two members of the
Army's 4th Battalion, 4th Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry
Division, Fort Hood, Texas died in Baghdad Iraq on April
1, when their Apache helicopter crashed while conducting
a combat air patrol. Killed were:
Chief Warrant Officer 3 Michael L.
Hartwick, of Orrick, Missouri.
Capt. Timothy J. Moshier,
