Ten members of the 2nd Battalion, 7th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Twentynine Palms, California died December 1 from an improvised explosive device.  The Marines were attending a promotion ceremony at a makeshift patrol base outside Fallujah, Iraq, not on patrol as was originally reported, military officials said.
