|
Two members of the 1st Battalion, 5th Cavalry Regiment,
1st Cavalry Division, Fort Hood, Texas died November 30
in Fallujah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive device
detonated near their military vehicle. Killed were:

IED Kills Soldier in Al Migdadiyah

Spc. Erik W. Hayes,
24, of Cascade, Maryland, died November 29 in Al
Miqdadiyah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive
device detonated near his military vehicle. Hayes
was assigned to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry
Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany.
Two NY Guard Members Killed in Baghdad by IED
|
Two members of the Army National Guard’s 1st Battalion,
69th Infantry Regiment, New York, New York, died
November 29 in Baghdad, Iraq, when their military
vehicle struck an improvised explosive device. AFPS
reported that three other soldiers were wounded in the
attack and evacuated by air to the 31st Combat Support
Hospital in Baghdad. Killed were:

FL Guard Member Killed in Traffic Accident
Spc. Daryl A. Davis,
20, of Orlando, Florida, died November 29 in Iraq when
his HMWWV was involved in a traffic accident. Davis was
assigned to the Army National Guard's 144th
Transportation Company, Marianna, Florida.

Division, Vilseck, Germany.

19, of Tucson, Arizona, died November 27 as a result of
enemy action in Al Anbar Province Iraq. Lucero was
assigned to 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion, 2nd Marine
Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps
Base Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.
Soldier Killed in Ad Duilayah While on Patrol

Spc. Jeremy E. Christensen,
27, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, died November 27 in
Ad Duilayah, Iraq, when an improvised explosive
device detonated near his patrol vehicle. AFPS
reported that the blast also damaged an M-1 Abrams
tank. Christensen was assigned to 1st Squadron, 4th
Armored Cavalry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division,
Schweinfurt, Germany.

Spc. David L. Roustum,
22, of West Seneca, New York, died November 20 in
Baghdad, Iraq, when his up-armored HMMWV was attacked by
enemy forces using rocket-propelled grenades and small
arms fire. Roustum was assigned to the Army National

Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California,
died November 15 as result of
enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq.
Killed were:

Capt. Patrick Marc M. Rapicault,
34, of St. Augustine, Florida.
He was
born in France, and came to the United
States as a foreign exchange student. He
came to Mississippi and later attended
college there, earning a degree in business.
His heart was with the military,
said his wife, Vera Rapicault.
He joined the Marines and at about
25, became an American citizen,
which enabled him to pursue his
dream of becoming an officer.
His wife recalled that his use of
the colloquialism "y'all" came with
his thick French accent.
"He ate, drank and slept the
military," said Vera. "He was the
kind of man who wanted to be in the
military, the kind of man you would
want to be out there (in Iraq)."
Vera Rapicault reported that her
husband had been in Iraq once
before, and was injured with second
degree burns in a bombing.
Rapicault was the commanding officer
of his unit's weapons company in the
2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment
at the time of his death.

Iraq, when his unit received small arms fire while
clearing a building. Sims was assigned to 2nd

Sgt. Catalin D. Dima,
36, of White Lake, New York., died November 13 in
Baghdad, Iraq, when enemy mortar fire landed near

incident while conducting combat operations in Al Anbar
Province, Iraq. Anderson was assigned to 1st Battalion,

Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, California. |

Sgt. Morgan W. Strader,
23, of Croosville, Indiana, died November 12 as result
of enemy action in Al Anbar Province, Iraq. Strader was

Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp
Pendleton, California.

Cpl. Jarrod L. Maher,
21, of Imogene, Iowa, died November 12 as result of a
non-hostile gunshot wound at Abu Ghraib, Iraq. Maher
was assigned to 1st Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, 1st
Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp
Pendleton, California.
Marine Reservist Killed in Babil Province

Cpl. Brian P. Prening,
24, of Sheboygan, Wisconsin, died November 12 as result
of enemy action in Babil Province, Iraq. Prening was
assigned to Marine Corps Reserve’s 2nd Battalion, 24th
Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division, Chicago, Illinois.
Three Soldiers Die in Fallujah
Two of the
soldiers were from the 1st Infantry Division based
in Vilseck, Germany. They were:

1st Lt. Edward D. Iwan,
28, of Albion, Nebraska, died November 12 in
Fallujah, Iraq, when a rocket-propelled grenade
struck his Bradley Fighting Vehicle. Iwan was
assigned to the Army's 2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry
Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany.
Sgt. James C. Matteson,
23, of Celoron, New York, died November 12 in Fallujah,
Iraq, when a rocket-propelled grenade struck his Bradley
Fighting Vehicle. Matteson was assigned to the Army's
2nd Battalion, 2nd Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry
Division, Vilseck, Germany.
The third soldier killed was from the 1st Cavalry
Division, based at Fort Hood, Texas. He was

Iraq, when he was accidentally struck by a tank.

Spc. Raymond L. White,
22, of Elwood, Indiana, died November 12 in Baghdad,
Iraq, when his patrol encountered enemy forces using
