Senior Leadership |
|
Senior Management's Perspective:
Robert Ames, CPA
Vice President/Chief Financial
Officer
Baltimore Orioles
"The
Orioles are deeply committed to
encouraging diversity in the
workplace, both with our hiring
practices as well as our selection
of business partners and vendors.
It has long been the objective of
the club to reach out to minority
groups in an effort to help grow the
game of baseball and to provide
opportunities to those who may have
not had them in the past. The ABDS
program helps the club locate
established minority-owned
businesses with strong reputations
in their fields, and allows the club
to expand its minority outreach.
Without ABDS, we would not have the
ability to reach these businesses as
easily and would not be able to as
confidently utilize their services.
We
are proud to have Rudolph’s as a
partner in this effort, and wish to
commend them for their exemplary
commitment to both value and
service." |

The DBP Program Administrator's
Perspective:
Linda Ashauer
Purchasing Agent
Baltimore Orioles
"In
July of 2008, I became the
Purchasing Agent and DBP
Program Administrator for
the Orioles organization.
Along the way as I learned
in my new position, the DBP
Program has become an
important company-wide
initiative, as well as a
personal commitment for me.
The Orioles strive to seek
out vendors who are able to
help us reach our
procurement initiatives and
diversity goals, as well as
affording these companies
the opportunity to grow
their businesses through
Major League Baseball.
As
the Orioles Diverse Business efforts
have expanded over the last year and
a half, Rudolph’s has been our
leading woman-owned organization for
our company. In keeping with the
Orioles’ Diversity efforts,
Rudolph’s has now become our
supplier of choice for our Spring
Training facilities in Florida. We
look forward to expanding our
relationship with Rudolph’s for all
of our Minor League facilities as
well.
We
chose Rudolph’s Office & Computer
Supply as our 2010 Jackie Robinson
“Most Valuable Diverse Business
Partner” for the Baltimore Orioles.
Rudolph’s has been a vendor for the
Baltimore Orioles since January of
2008 and has become one of our “go
to” vendors for our office needs.
Rudolph’s has received many awards
over the years in recognition of
their achievements in sales as well
as their top-notch customer
service. They have been recognized
by the Baltimore Business Journal as
being among the “Top 25 Woman Owned
Businesses in Maryland” in 1996,
2001-2008, and we are proud to
business with them."

The Buyer's
Perspective:
Jamie Bell
Merchandising Manager
Baltimore Orioles
"Rudolph's
has become one of the more
dependable suppliers that
the Orioles use. What
impresses me the most about
Rudolph's is their level of
service and turnaround times
they provide while
maintaining very competitive
prices as well. I would
endorse Rudolph's to any
business in need of office
supplies and I look forward
to continue working with
them in the future."

Business Diversity and the Baltimore
Orioles |
|
 |
Baltimore Orioles
Diverse Business Partners
Program
|
The
goal of the Baltimore Orioles is to expand our diversity efforts
in all areas of the organization.
The Orioles
are diversified in many areas of the club, such as our players,
coaches and office staff. We realize there are other areas
where we can greatly improve our diversity efforts by reaching
out to minority and women-owned businesses in our day-to-day
business activities. This is our goal for the future. |
