When the Chicago White Sox first
launched the Diverse Business Partners
Program in 1998, we sent letters to
diverse companies outlining our
procurement needs and requirements, and
we invited those companies to bid on the
commodities we purchase. One of the
letters was sent to Kopico Printing,
which is located very close to US
Cellular Field.
Kopico quickly responded to our
invitation. We met to discuss our needs
and their capabilities. During
that meeting, Kopics expressed how
excited and impressed they were that an
organization such as the White Sox would
seek them out. Kopico clearly had
the capabilities we needed to service
several of our printing jobs. They
were awarded several contracts and we
have enjoyed an outstanding relationship
ever since.
Kopico has often turned jobs around for
us in very short time periods. They have
provided us with envelopes, letterhead,
brochures, ticket coupons, certificates,
invoices, and invitations. In 2005, they
again provided the Chicago White Sox
with outstanding service and quality.
Baseball's supplier diversity initiative
is called the Diverse Business Partners
Program because we think of our
suppliers as more than mere suppliers,
they are our partners. We support
them and they support us. Since
Kopico was one of the first diverse
suppliers to respond to our outreach
efforts, I like to point to them as a
prime example of what we mean by
partners.
They not only support the White Sox
though their printing operations, but
they are fans of our organization and
regularly show their support by
purchasing tickets and suites during our
home games. The relationship is a
mutually beneficial one and we feel
fortunate to have them as a supplier.
It is
the Chicago White Sox's pleasure to
recognize Kopico as one of our preferred
suppliers, and one of America's Best
Diverse Suppliers(R).
