Champions
First diversityinbusiness.com
is pleased to honor the leadership of
Major League Baseball in championing
diversity in professional sports, as
well as in American society and the
global community. No other
American institution, with the exception
of the U.S. military, has taken a more
proactive role in creating opportunities
for members of diverse communities.
Baseball stepped to the forefront of
integration with the 1947 decision to
bring Jackie Robinson into the Major
Leagues. Fifty years later,
Commissioner Bud Selig established the
first comprehensive supplier diversity
program in professional sports. In
recognition of these and other steps taken
to
include and develop members of diverse
communities, diversityinbusiness.com
is proud to preview its annual listing
of America's Best Diverse Suppliers with
the best diverse suppliers of the
World Series Champions. |
|
Each year, the winner of the
World Series will showcase their
best diverse suppliers in April to mark the
beginning of the baseball season. This year,
the honor goes to the Chicago White Sox,
winners of the 2005 World Series. Other
diverse suppliers recognized by Major
League Baseball will appear in the June
Anniversary edition, along with suppliers
selected by other organizations participating in the
America's Best Diverse Suppliers
Program. |
